Personal computer, tablet sales

could get a fillip in Budget 2017

Amid falling sales of PCs, tablets and other devices, industry leaders came up with suggestions to boost business and digital economy.  s v krishnamachari S V Krishnamachari   December 13, 2016 12:06 IST If Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were to accept a suggestion by computer manufacturers in India, you could get a loan at 3-4 percent per annum to buy personal computers (PCs). The icing on the cake would be income tax exemption for the amount spent to buy a PC. It would also encourage Indians to go digital and embrace cashless transactions, a new fad in India ever since the government scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes. "To increase PC penetration, it was also proposed that easy loans (3-4% per annum ) should be provided by banks for the purchase of personal computers and cost of PC should be allowed for deduction under Section 80C of Income Tax Act," a finance ministry official said on Saturday, after the customary pre-budget consultative meeting with the IT industry. The proposed incentive to buy PCs will be "catalyst for a transformation of the country to a digital economy and knowledge economy," the ministry said, summing up the meeting with the industry leaders that comprised both software and hardware segments. The two bodies representing the IT industry in India are Nasscom (software) and MAIT (hardware). MAIT was represented by Nitin Kunkolienker, vice president. PC sales in India stood at 11.2 million units in the financial year 2015-16. India is one nation that’s serious about entering the digital age. See the entire article below. Taken from ibtimes.com

The 5 Best Tablets Available Today

Tablets are very handy nowadays since everything is on the go and people need accessibility and convenience. The world has become so busy in everything that we do it was inevitable that tablets would become one of the biggest hits. Here are some reviews of five of the best ones. 9.7 inch Apple iPad Pro (Best Overall) This is what we would call the best tablet yet. Rating at nearly five stars by users it is amazing. It has a great sleek look to it and the design is impeccable. The screen display has amazing bright tones to it and everything is so sharp that there will not be any squinting here. It is so clear in all the images. Low resolution pictures automatically shift into better images when looked at on this tablet. The camera is even better than expected. At 12 megapixel camera shoot at 4K, the processor that it has allows it to edit pictures in multiple 4K streams. Then when it comes to battery life you will be surprised. It lasts almost 11 hours. That is great for road trips and long intervals of leaving your child alone to have fun on it, if you choose to let them touch it. Lenovo Tab 2 A10 (Best Tablet under $200) Now this tablet comes very close in comparison to the 9.7 in Apple tablet but the battery life is about an hour and ten minutes longer. They have a great colorful screen that you will not get tired of staring at. And then the overall performance of the tablet is very strong. Only downfall, for you gamers out there, it is not best with gaming performance, so we are sorry for that loss. But if that is not too important than this tablet will still give you a great experience. Also, if you are on a budget this tablet is right for you. 12.9 inch Apple iPad Pro (Best for Creative Pros) Now above we mentioned the smaller Apple Pro but the bigger screen here just adds more to look at, which is not a downfall to the product whatsoever. Plus when you add the Apple Pencil you can fully utilize all there is to do on this tablet. The Pencil enhances the smoothness of the tablet and there is no lag working with it either. Everything is calibrated to exceptional expectation. It also has the same processor, just a bigger screen which is better to see things and still easily accessible and convenient for traveling. Asus ZenPad 3S 10 (Best Audio Tablet) Now here is a tablet that cranks up the volume. This tablet has great audio, but is best loved for its support of high resolution sound files that you can save to it, the kind that true audio fans treasure for a life time. It has a dual core and quad core processor which allows it to be one of the faster Android tablets out there. The screen is also bright and vibrant to look at which is great for watching movies in amazing condition and watching music video with high resolution too. The design of this is gorgeous and people sometimes think it is an iPad but do not mistake the two or you might find some Apple users a little upset. Microsoft Surface 3 (Best 2-in-1 Tablet) The surface tablets would probably be one of the best in good keyboard feedback. This screen displays bright colors and a beautiful design that you will not be able to take your eyes off of. The audio is excellent as well as it being a quiet device. It does not make too many functioning noises. The only thing that I would point out is that the keyboard does not come with it, and putting it on your lap might be a bit awkward. But after buying the keyboard and finding a comfortable way to have it on your lap you should be fine with it and love the many different aspects it has to offer you, especially, the fact that it is super versatile as a tablet and laptop all in one.
